Game Idea: Project Natal Dance Battle

One of the purest joys in life is watching terrible dancers try to dance. Horrible rhythm, weird contortions, the gasps for breath, even the overly passionate closed eyes (as though the music is causing physical pain). I love it all. I could watch it for as long as they have it on.
That is why I think the following game idea is so amazing.
It starts with that new fangled high tech Project Natal camera. The thing can do all sorts of nifty little tricks but for this game we just need the bare essentials. The way the game works is simple, 2 people dance against each other over Xbox Live and other users watch their performance and determine who wins. This is the spirit of competition at its finest. Head to head, mano a mano, dancer versus dancer. There could be weekly, monthly, and overall rankings.
Think about how many people really think they can dance. Think about how many people would have a blast just jumping in front of a camera and making fools of themselves. You could save your favorite clips and upload them to be voted on. I could see real dancers getting into it to try to reach the top of the leaderboards. You could even have an adult section for those who like their dancing a little more risque. It is like the fun of DDR mixed with the humiliation and joy of YouTube.
The tech to pull this off seems ridiculously simple compared to some of the other stuff they are talking about with Natal. You could set the game up with a wide variety of songs and just like Rock Band you could have weekly new releases.
Tell me you wouldn’t tune in, if only just to watch people make fools of themselves.
