After beating Chrono Trigger, I’ve been in desperate need for a new hardcore JRPG on the DS. Hopefully this game fills the niche.

I’m going to say my favorite RPG is still Mother 3, though.

There is this little know but fantastic rpg on the Gameboy called Great Greed. It had a unique battle system, an interesting story, humor, decent graphics (for a gb game), and a message

I gotta say: Final Fantasy 6 (3 for us) for SNES was the most brain-meat-tickling, soul-shattering game I had ever played, at the time, and remains my very favorite story of any RPG.

Crystalis for the original NES was a fantastic Action RPG. It had a futuristic Zelda vibe to it with great visuals and story, and the entire campaign can be speed-run in under an hour. Yes, a full RPG experience in 53 minutes.
