Remembering Gamecrazy

As the economy continues to dip as low as Hermes doing the limbo, once thriving businesses are forced to declare bankruptcy and even close up shop for good. And so it went for Gamecrazy and its parent company, Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery.
I am no economist. All the economic theory I know I picked up on the streets listening to the Wu Tang Clan, so I can’t tell you if the the Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery business model was destined to fail as we transition into the age of Netflix and digital downloads. However, I am a gamer and I can tell you the loss of Gamecrazy hurts us all.
Message Killing

I am playing Lumines. I am in the groove. The whole board is basically clear. I am already at my previous high score and I am quickly taking off for the stratosphere. If life were NBA Jam, I would literally be on fire. My hands are moving with a precision that a concert pianist would envy. There is nothing that can stop me. When Masterlookas sees this score, honest to god, tears are going to fall out of his eyes.
And then bloop blip. I’ve got a message from my friend.
How Modern Warfare 2 is Shaping 2010
2010 is looking to be even more amazing than we previously thought. Dozens of games that were supposed to be out in ’09 have been pushed back to ’10. Some of these games were pushed because of technical issues like bugs. Others were held up to receive a little extra polish. The rest were pushed back because of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
“Huh!?” you say with a confused look upon your face.
