I Am Error: When Music & Games First Met
“I Am Error” is a new feature in which our very own Wesley Johnson will pick a few games along a theme, discuss them here on the site, and then record a podcast later in the month about those games. That’s where you come in! We want your own thoughts on the game either here in the comments or via email so we can discuss them on the new show. - Ed. note
Younger gamers may be under the impression that the world of rock music and video games first met in Guitar Hero. Well, listen here, whippersnappers: that’s completely untrue! Real-life rocknrollers have been appearing in video games since the early 80s. In this month’s “I Am Error,” we take a look at three examples of the aforementioned unholy union – Journey: The Arcade Game, The Thompson Twins Adventures and Revolution X.
If you’ve played these games in the past or have a way to play them now, please do so and email us your thoughts on them. Or you can leave a comment about your experiences below. We’ll talk about our time with each title and yours on a the upcoming companion podcast to this feature.
Remembering Gamecrazy

As the economy continues to dip as low as Hermes doing the limbo, once thriving businesses are forced to declare bankruptcy and even close up shop for good. And so it went for Gamecrazy and its parent company, Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery.
I am no economist. All the economic theory I know I picked up on the streets listening to the Wu Tang Clan, so I can’t tell you if the the Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery business model was destined to fail as we transition into the age of Netflix and digital downloads. However, I am a gamer and I can tell you the loss of Gamecrazy hurts us all.
Movie Ideas: Guitar Hero the Movie

"I can play on expert!"
Before you turn around and run away screaming, hear me out. I think that a Guitar Hero movie could be awesome and hilarious. I have always found these kind of comedies work best when people are taking ridiculous things way too seriously. I envision a whole group of people who are taking their plastic guitar playing way too seriously. I am talking full on guitar hero groupies who faint when Star Power is activated.
