When Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies came out a few weekends ago, everyone in my household played their respective copies non-stop for the first two days. Everything was going great at first, but then I started to get a horrible headache.
I started to notice that my hands were killing me. I realized that I was squinting the entire time I was playing, and the small size of the console was increasingly uncomfortable in my hands.
It was time to give in, admit that I am an old man, and grab a Nintendo DSi XL.

"Should I Leave a Note?"
When Brittany and I walked into the main exhibition hall at Penny Arcade Expo 2009 (PAX to it’s homies), the first thing she noticed was a big Disney sign hanging from the ceiling in the back corner, far off in the distance. She is such a big fan of the classic Disney movie properties that she was insanely curious to see what the company would have on hand at a game show.
I figured it would just end up being a game of whatever their latest kids movie was. Instead it turned out to be a high quality arcade racer titled “Split/Second”.

It actually came on the ship date despite the man on the phone telling me it wouldn’t come until the day after. I rushed on over to pick up the ps3 version of the collector’s edition with the Ryu headband preorder bonus. The line was literally frozen in front of me, not because of excitement, but because the person ahead of me was trading in an entire stack of games. Finally, I made it to the counter and, for what is probably the first time in history, left GameStop without being asked to preorder anything.
