Barrel Roll! #69 - “Excellent!”
On a most excellent sixty-ninth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the dudes must travel through time to find the most bodacious of all gaming experiences.
When the time comes for the shooting of the breeze, Jesse and Adam give us the rundown on their experience with the VD-W3 Wii HDMI Upscaler Processor. EXCELLENT!
In what we’ve been playing, the guys return to Monster Hunter Tri and 3D Dot Game Heroes. Jonah has been giving some portable games a try in the form of Highborn and Carcassonne on the iPod Touch as well as Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow on the DS.
In the news, the guys talk pre-E3 rumors, particularly on the Nintendo 3DS. There is also talk of multiplayer gameplay hitting the Mass Effect universe, a new Contra game in the works, and a patch to Lost Planet 2 that addresses nearly all of our complaints.
We also talk about some new game trailers and finish things off with a Mega Man News Roundup. All this and more on the latest episode of Barrel Roll.

Joseph4th says:Well, I guess you could consider us an indie game company, but it you didn’t know Jet Set Games was founded by ex-Westwood Studios people who were responsible for the original Command & Conquer series, among other games.
I think it was just that you were posting about Doodle Jump the same day that Highborn launched while I was spamming it out to… well I was going to say friends and such, but truth be told I was telling everybody I came across. Saw some guy in the parking lot with an iPhone and I wrestled him to the ground and made him buy a copy.
We purposely made Highborn to be very light in complexity because it’s a mobile game. There is no unit production besides the spawned units which are the Mad Wizard you get when you capture a Tower, the Militia Unit from a Fort, and the Monk from the Monastery. Those units all respawn in a few turns when defeated, provided you still own the structure.
Also, remember to save checkpoints while you play (option from the pause menu) because if you loose your Hero unit you loose the mission. It is kinda of story based that way.
Anyway, thanks for the mention. I totally forgot to get back to you and ask what you thought of the game.

Jonah "spambot" Gregory says:Thanks for the clarification.
I am enjoying what I’ve played so far. It is on my list of games I want to review for WingDamage.
I will send a link your way once I’m able to get one up.
