Barrel Roll! #99 - “Mysterious Disappearing Flavor”
On a very special ninety-ninth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, Wes returns to help us solve the mystery of the disappearing flavor. Sure, pineapple soda is delicious, but as soon as a brand makes their own version, it vanishes from the market. Is their some soda based conspiracy, or is old man Withers at the haunted amusement park up to his old tricks again?
After discussing the new games this week, the guys talk about what games they’ve been playing. Adam gives his initial impressions of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and talks about his return to Minecraft. Jonah finally sat down with Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. Wes gives us his thoughts on Back to the Future: The Game and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Jesse is still trying to find the fun in Kirby’s Epic Yarn and also teams up with Jonah for some Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.

linthuslyth says:I played a little bit of Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Perhaps it’s the due to the whole morphing a non-Kirby game into a Kirby game mid production but yeah… I didn’t feel the magic that Kirby Super Star or even The Amazing Mirror had. Maybe because I’m such a fan of Kirby’s copy ability… that’s always the first thing I look forward to.
Also… In Monster Hunter, Power Seeds are the most expensive things you can grow on your Field Rows. But the best way to get rich is to mine a lot. Ores are probably the more expensive raw material other than rare monster parts.

Jesse "Main Finger" Gregory says:I have yet to play The Amazing Mirror, but I actually have plans to! Perhaps it will be a Friday Old Games review in the future.
And yes, we were definitely planting power seeds
I would sell ore, but man… right now I just haven’t needed to. The seed farm has been keeping the money rolling in enough even with the expense of my growing armor collection. Good to know, though.
