The Leftovers: Russ’s Picks
Not every game we love makes it into the WingDamage top 10. Some of them just don’t have enough unanimous support. These are what we like to call “The Leftovers.”
So here ends my first year writing for WingDamage. It has been a lot of fun. I haven’t written as much here as I really wanted too, but I’ve made it a resolution of mine to write down more about the great games coming out over the next year on this fair blog.
But first things first. I’m going to lay down the games from my top ten list that didn’t make the cut for ZOLO’S GAME OF THE YEAR. I can’t say I’ve played every game this year, and there were some games I missed this year that sounded pre-made for my GOTY list, but time is ever marching forward. Without further adieu, here are my leftovers.

Barrel Roll! #89 - “You Can Draw Things On the Screen (I Guess)”
On a very special eighty-ninth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the guys learn to draw right on their DS screens. Though in hindsight, they probably shouldn’t have been using permanent marker.
In “what we’ve played on computer and video game consoles”, Jesse has been playing through the action-shooter Vanquish, while Jonah gets his strategy game on in both Game Dev Story and Civilization V. He also talks a little about Fallout: New Vegas, but at the time had barely started on his wasteland journey.
Adam is back to talk about Angry Birds and Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Wes also joins us to talk about the new Alan Wake DLC, The Writer.

Barrel Roll #88 - “One-Eyed Dragon Party Time”
On a very special eighty-eighth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, it’s an all-night dragon dance party. And there ain’t no party like a one-eyed dragon party, ’cause a one-eyed dragon party has historically accurate robo-samurai.
In our segment where we talk about the games we played the previous week, simply titled “video games”, Jesse and Jonah talk about the remix tour of NBA Jam, Jesse tries to get into Alan Wake and has even checked out the DSiWare title Shantae: Risky’s Revenge.
Jesse and Adam break down Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, which Adam managed to pull himself away from Minecraft for a few minutes to try out. Jonah finally started his epic western quest in Red Dead Redemption, and even had a chance to try out the multiplayer with Wes (even though he didn’t make the show).
In “Let’s Play Together”, Jonah and Jesse talk about Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes and its constant one-eyed dragon parties.

Barrel Roll! #73 - “Allzyagottado”
On a very special seventy-third episode of our video game show, Barrel Roll!, Wes is once again looking for love in all the wrong internet chat forums. Jesse tries to explain to him that “Allzyagottado is…” but never gets to finish his thoughts before we start in with the gaming talk. This is all pre-show, of course, and has no bearing on the episode at large.

Barrel Roll #68 - “Pac-Man Clones”
On a very special sixty-eighth episode of WingDamage.com’s podshow, “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the guys discover that not all Pac-Man clones are as family friendly as you would think.
It is a hard life lesson, but thankfully returning guest hosts Wesley “Dolla Billz” Johnson and Adam “Heatman” Anania are there to help us deal with the awkwardness that comes with being part of the internet.
Barrel Roll! #67 - “Look Behind You, Alan”
On a very special sixty-seventh episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, we split the show into two parts.
The first part is our regular “The Games We Played Last Week” segment followed by a “Friday Old Games” recap. In part two, we are joined by special guest Shawn Baxter of the Capcom Community Blog for an in-depth Monster Hunter Tri and Lost Planet 2 discussion.
Anticipated Xbox 360 Games of Q2 2010

The second quarter of 2010 contains a lot of solid releases. Will we ever have time to catch up on our backlog? More and more, it’s looking like the answer is a big, fat “no”. However, you might find a few games from Q1 that have snuck in thanks to delays. What you’ll see below is a collection of the WingDamage staff’s most anticipated Xbox 360 games of Q2 2010.
