The most dangerous being in Cassardis is not the huge, heart stealing dragon after all, but the infinite number of brine that live just below the water’s surface. There they wait for the unsuspecting traveler to go for a casual dip on a hot summers day. Then they pounce, devouring anything and everything they can get their microscopic mitts on.

In other words, most of the crew played Dragon’s Dogma this week. The crew being Jonah, Jesse, Wes, and the return of Adam Anania. Because fighting Tolkien-esk monsters in one game wasn’t enough, Wes and Jonah also tried their hand at the Tolkien themed “Lord of the Rings” based game, Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Here Jonah played as a Wizard for a change. He also did in Diablo 3 and Torchlight II, both of which he gave a whirl over the last few weeks.

Not to be outdone by sheer number of games played, Wes brings Max Payne 3, Doctor Who Adventure and Portal 2 to the table. He seems to enjoy them all and would recommend them for various audiences based on which ones are age and content appropriate, but that is really your call.

In what we’ve been playing, Jesse hit up the demos for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. He also talks the nitty gritty of advanced classes in Valkyria Chronicles II. Jonah has played a little of several games, including The Longest Journey, Duke Nukem 3D, Minecraft and the PC Classic, Master of Magic, where he was implored to “select wizard”.

Wes is back with more on Red Dead Redemption and the third episode of the Doctor Who adventure game.

"You furry little maniacs! You blew it up!"

On a very special seventy-eight episode of the podshow “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, we learn the dark truth about this supposedly “new” planet we found ourselves on. Oh sure, all signs pointed to the defeat of The Empire thousands of years before, but a planet where humans evolved from Ewoks? Pure madness.

That is, until we found it. The last remaining vestige of a world now destroyed. The cursed statue that showed the world was not what we once thought it was. It was our beloved Endor the whole time.

"I Found Him!"

On a very special twenty-fifth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, we are joined by our friend and yours, Ben Paddon of the Science-Fiction Comedy “Jump Leads” and returning guest Wesley Johnson. We spend a good portion of time talking about how much we all love adventure games, how glad we all are that they are back, and which games we would like to see made. But a lot of that is saved for when we talk about stuff in our most terribly named segment “Let’s Talk About Stuff.”
