Let me just get this out of the way. I hesitate to throw around terms like “the best soundtrack of 2010″ anymore because frankly, music is very subjective. I’m not trying to lay down “the facts” on which OST wins. Rather, my goal is to share with readers some of the soundtracks of 2010 that I personally enjoyed. If you’re favorite soundtrack isn’t discussed below, don’t take it personally.

With that said, I’d like to say a few words about my favorite soundtracks from last year. For your convenience, I’ve provided links on where you can purchase these soundtracks as well as a three minute “sampler” medley of each game, just to give you a taste of what to expect.

On a very special ninety-first episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, it’s all ninja fighting, all the time. The guys step it up a notch with their chi powers and fireballing as they fight… I don’t know… let’s say Goku. He’s going down!

In our weekly segment about the games we’ve been playing, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is discussed by Jesse and Jonah. Jesse also fills us in on what’s new and awesome in the Split/Second: Quarry Onslaught DLC. Adam is still addicted to Minecraft and Jonah finally finished Fallout: New Vegas. There is also some talk of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow when we ponder whether or not it feels like Castlevania.

On a very special eighty-seventh episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, only one wizard will rise up to save the world from the minions of darkness washing over the land. Select carefully…

In what we’ve been playing, Jesse hit up the demos for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. He also talks the nitty gritty of advanced classes in Valkyria Chronicles II. Jonah has played a little of several games, including The Longest Journey, Duke Nukem 3D, Minecraft and the PC Classic, Master of Magic, where he was implored to “select wizard”.

Wes is back with more on Red Dead Redemption and the third episode of the Doctor Who adventure game.
